50 Meals for Jamaica Hospital First Responders
This past Friday, March 27, 2020, Friends of Tim Turane was joined BlaQue Resource Network to assist their joint effort with Golden Krust to distribute 50 meals to first responders at Jamaica Hospital.
Friends of Tim Turane facilitated coordination with Jamaica Hospital Department of Public Affairs, the Nursing Director, and Dr. Rubin to distribute meals prepared by Golden Krust to first responders.
The BlaQue Resource Network developed a day long outreach strategy. The BlaQue Resource Network helped develop the vision of Golden Krust so the organization can meet its philanthropic goal. BRN helped secure volunteers to bag and box the lunch. They also recruited volunteers to drive and delivery the food to the location. This professional navigation of logistical oversight proves how important community organizations are.
This collaborative community effort sets precedent for what must be done in Queens as people address their new normal. More small contributions and selfless actions by other community groups and civic leaders can lead to the success necessary to overcome this trying time.
